The Left’s dream of Medicare-for-All has a big problem: The successful private-public partnership called Medicare Advantage.
Medicare Advantage plans receive money from the federal government to manage the care for our nation’s seniors. In contrast, original Medicare has a single-payer: The government. As a result, MA delivers the same health benefits as original Medicare for 85 cents on the dollar.
Medicare Advantage is hugely popular with seniors (90% say they love their plan) because they pay lower premiums and have more benefits like vision and dental coverage. Over 50% of seniors are now enrolled in an MA plan.
Medicare Advantage proves the private sector can deliver better value than the government can. That’s why the Left hates Medicare Advantage and is doing everything it can to undermine it.
Conservatives in Congress understand this. Earlier this year, Republican Study Committee Chairman Rep. Kevin Hern said the Biden admin’s cut to Medicare Advantage was the “first step towards Medicare for All.”
A new report published this week confirms that attacks on MA are coming from Leftist groups, including one that’s Soros-funded.
