What a fantastic December for True Texas Project!
At the Scorecard Gala, True Texans Lauren Heese, Miriah Sachs, and Tracy Shannon were honored with engraved sabers for the Conservative Leader Awards...
A mix of this year's TTP winners with some (not all!) from year's past
At the True Texas Project Dueling Pianos party we did a lot of laughing, eating, singing, and dancing...
We also had several satellite parties around the state where True Texans gathered together to share the holiday season. Awesome! I love to see this!
As I looked at all the laughter on faces of those I know and some I haven't met yet, I could only think, "If we'd never started this effort nearly 15 years ago, these people wouldn't be here, they wouldn't have met, they wouldn't be loving on each other, we would not have this patriot family." It filled me with a great joy!
At the Scorecard gala when Michael Sullivan gave a brief speech, he mentioned how someone he knew chooses one word to focus on during the holiday. I love that idea, and it's something I've done myself -- except I make it a long-term goal (I guess because I'm so dense!?!). And for me, the word I recently chose was JOY. This has been a very joy-filled Christmas season for me so far BECAUSE of my True Texas family, and I hope to take that joy into the new year. Honestly, it is easy to lose my focus. Lots of fighting, lots of tension, lot of disappointment, frustration, and anger. Where is the joy???Without joy, politics is just work. Blech. No thank you! But with you guys, I feel joy, and I'm so grateful for each of you!
Before I close, please check out my 20-second Christmas message to you that I shared at our dueling pianos party...
