Starting the Formal Impeachment Process Against President Joe Biden
On Wednesday, the House voted to formalize the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. I supported this resolution that sets forth specific procedures regarding the impeachment inquiry, formalizes the impeachment inquiry, helps to remove legal ambiguity, and ensures the American people will receive the answers they deserve.
The Biden family received millions of dollars from our adversaries, and it is our responsibility in Congress to investigate whether the President was involved or not.
Leading a Bipartisan Panel Discussion About the Great Power Competition in Africa
Last week, I led a bipartisan panel about the great power competition in Africa as part of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's Beyond the SCIF Series at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.
Africa has a land mass three times the size of the U.S. and has a population of 1.4 billion people. By 2050, the United Nations forecasts Africa's population to reach nearly 2.5 billion people, equating to 25 percent of the world's population.
Africa plays a critical role in global stability, and the United States benefits from stability in Africa. However, some countries, such as Russia and China, actively engage in foreign influence and look to create and exploit instability in Africa for their political or economic benefits.
This leads to food instability, poverty, and lawlessness, and allows for terrorist organizations and other hostile actors to prosper.
In our discussion yesterday, our panelists detailed the challenges the region faces and the importance of ensuring that there are African-led solutions to those challenges.

Passing the NDAA Conference Report
The House also passed the Conference Report to Accompany the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) with my support.
Georgia has nine military installations that rely on the NDAA to support their critical missions. Included in the NDAA are over a dozen amendments that I sponsored with key wins for our country, such as prohibiting the use of DOD funds for purchasing battery technology from Communist China, elevating the position of Vice Chief of the National Guard Bureau from the Rank of Lieutenant General to General, and increasing the accession bonus for military nurses to be competitive with the private sector.
I look forward to the President signing the FY24 NDAA into law.
