BLM Mass Roundup and Removal Schedule

McCullough Peaks Update

The public spoke loud and clear against the bait trap removal of the beloved McCullough Peaks wild horses, generating over 200,000 emails to top BLM officials. In response to this pressure, the BLM reduced the number of horses to be gathered, but is still pressing forward with the operation. AWHC reached out to BLM for an update on the roundup and the agency responded. Read on for the latest information about the McCullough Peaks bait trap operation.

BLM Burro Adoption Event Report

   

On December 8th, the Arizona BLM held a wild horse and burro adoption event at the Department of Corrections in Florence, Arizona. This is the location of a highly regarded training program in which inmates care for and handle wild horses and burros at this facility. Two AWHC volunteers were on site to document this event.
