Dear Friend,

Donald Trump's surgeon general just stood in front of the American
people and delivered this stunning message: Journalists should stop
criticizing the president. Sorry, Mr. President. You might be able to
bully the corporate media, but Common Dreams will NOT stop criticizing
you. Ever. In fact, during a crisis like this, our journalism is more
important than ever—and without the support of donors like you, we
simply couldn't exist. Donate now to help fund our ongoing coverage of
Trump's coronavirus debacle—and the public health emergency that demands
urgent attention and an informed public.

Donald Trump's jaw-dropping incompetence is literally killing people. It
was just two weeks ago that Trump and his backers on Fox News were
calling the coronavirus a hoax. Right now, people are being forced to
pack into tight spaces for hours at airports—the worst possible thing
they could do. People still can't get test kits anywhere. But it's not
just Trump and the Republicans falling short. Nancy Pelosi's coronavirus
bill cuts 80 percent of workers out of paid sick leave protections. Huge
companies like McDonald's demanded exemptions, and Democrats caved.
Common Dreams isn't like the corporate media. We exist to make the world
a better place. We focus on how the most vulnerable are affected, not
just the wealthy and well-connected. We refuse to play the "both sides"
game of phony false equivalence, and we'll call out anyone in a position
of power failing put the needs of working people ahead of capitalist
greed. But we can't do it alone. We need you. Please donate whatever you
can to help Common Dreams provide the news coverage the world needs in
this moment.
