Draw for Candidate Name Order on the March 5, 2024 Republican Primary Election Ballot

DECEMBER 2023

The Republican Party Of Texas has certified the filed candidate list for the March 5, 2024 Republican Primary Election.

The results of the candidate filing are contests for:
Navarro County Sheriff: Elmer Tanner vs Steven Travis
County Tax Assessor / Collector: Mike Dowd vs Johnny Allen Crawford,
District 13 Judge: James Lagomarsino vs Joseph Aguilar

All other local Republican incumbents have filed.

As required by the Texas Election Code and ensure a fair election, the Republican Party Of Navarro County will hold a "Draw For Name Order On The Ballot." The ballot drawing will occur at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening December 21, 2023 at Republican Headquarters, 111-B West Third Avenue, in downtown Corsicana TX 75110

County Chair Steve Jessup Steve Jessup and members of the County Executive Committee will conduct the drawing. Candidates, their families, and / or their representatives are welcome to attend. The public is invited.

The County Executive Committee will meet on Monday, January 15, 2024. The program will feature all the candidates in Primary Election competitive races to introduce themselves and present their platforms.

David Luther, President of the Texas Republican County Chairmen's Association (TRCCA) will be conducting Precinct Chair training on Saturday January 13, 2024 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Republican Headquarters.

Precinct Chairs identify Republican voters, register Republican voters, communicate with Republican voters, and turn-out Republican voters on Election Day. Also, Precinct Chairs serve on the County Executive Committee and hold their Precinct Conventions following the Primary Election. If you are interested in becoming a Precinct Chair, or an existing Precinct Chair, please attend. The Democrats have 10 Precinct Chairs file and we only have 12 Precinct Chairs file of 30 total precincts.
