FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS!

While the news of COVID-19 evolves daily (if not hourly), I want to take a minute to slow down and share a quick note with the Northville community. ⠀

Writing this now, I don't have all the answers. The truth is, no one has all the answers, but I can assure you that myself and the city of Northville are in constant communication with our state leaders, as well as the Wayne and Oakland County Health Departments working to keep you safe. ⠀

•  We have suspended large gatherings in the Northville area (over 100 people).⠀
• The state of Michigan has confirmed 33 case as of this morning, but new cases are added daily
• Governor Whitmore has closed all K-12 buildings and ordered the temporary prohibition of large events. 
• Residents of Northville should remain calm, but they should take this news seriously, stay informed and take the necessary precautions to keep themselves & others safe.⠀

This will be something we will all get through together. Here are a few tips I am personally following and encourage you to do the same:⠀

• Breathe, and focus on healthy thoughts. ⠀
• Follow the best practices shared by the CDC, know the symptoms and stay home when you are sick.⠀
• Practice social distancing and avoid handshakes. ⠀
• In addition to personal hygiene, get enough rest, eat your veggies & do your best to manage stress.⠀
• Check on friends and family, especially the elderly that may not have immediate access to news and social media.⠀
