Giving Israel unconditional aid while it terrorizes innocent civilians would be a moral failing of the United States and would be counterproductive toward Israel’s stated goal of eliminating Hamas.

As Bernie and Peace candidates like Barbara Lee have said, Israel has every right to defend itself after the horrific attacks on October 7th. However, we know from the war on terror that killing innocent people doesn’t stop terrorists like Hamas — it only empowers them by providing a new wave of recruits devastated by the loss of loved ones.
