Last month, the feminist news website Jezebel shut down and laid off its entire staff after 16 years of incredible reporting on gender justice issues.
A few days later, we learned that the progressive organizing group MoveOn was laying off at least 18 staff members just as the 2024 election is heating up.
We here at Common Dreams have not been forced to make these kinds of announcements ... yet. And that's entirely thanks to the support of you, our readers.
But we’re facing the same headwinds affecting other news outlets and progressive organizations, and if we don't hit our fundraising targets, we will face similarly hard choices.
We don’t get a second shot at this. Falling behind now means catching up later, and outlets like ours don’t have that luxury. I refuse to let that happen and ask today, humbly, for your help.
