Special Election For Vacant Steering Committee Seats

There are three empty spots on our chapter's steering committee that need to be filled ASAP!?

The positions available are:

1 Co-chair

1 Secretary

1 Communications Director

The?Co-Chair?serves as a chapter spokesperson and oversees the chapter's day-to-day administrative activities. ?They communicate with the National DSA office and perform the general administrative tasks to run they chapter. ?They are also responsible for facilitating or delegating facilitators for the steering committee meetings and General Membership Meetings. ?Co-chair applicants should expect to spend approx. 10 to 20 hours a week handling their tasks?

The?Secretary ?handles the?internal communications of the chapter. ?Responsibilities include writing the monthly newsletter emails (in coordination with the Communications Director), assisting with texting/phonebanking the membership for internal campaigns, assisting with ballot creation, and taking notes at General Membership Meetings. The Secretary also tracks the existing Sac DSA committees, enforces bylaws as needed, and assists with general at-large administration tasks. ?They serve as one of two co-chairs for our standing Communications Committee alongside the Communications Director. ?Secretaries should expect to spend approx. 5 hours a week on their tasks.

The?Communications Director is responsible for over-seeing and protecting our external and forward facing forms of communication, namely social media posts. ?The Comms Director is expected to check-in with committee chairs about upcoming events and ensure that committees understand the process for publicizing their events. ?They serve as one of the two co-chairs of our standing Communications Committee alongside the Secretary. ?Comms Directors should expect to spend approx. 5 hours a week on their tasks.

ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ATTEND WEEKLY STEERING COMMITTEE MEETINGS IN ORDER TO FULFILL THEIR ABOVE MENTIONED TASKS. ?ONLY DSA MEMBERS MAY APPLY.
