Team, I can’t wait for Amy to be my senator. But I promise, it’s not just because she’s my daughter.
I’m reaching out today because I’ve heard some of the things the other side has said about Amy, and I’m not going to sit back without responding.
What you need to know about Amy is she’s always thought about how to serve and uplift others—in our family, in our church community, and in the military family she eventually joined. From grade school days focusing on school assignments or sports events, to the nights she would call me while she was deployed across the world, Amy is always—to use her own words—thinking of the mission.
We need more of that in Washington. For 35 years, Mitch McConnell has been letting Kentuckians down in every way you can imagine.
Take health care, for example. Speaking as a retired physician who saw patients for more than 40 years, watching the cost of care and essential prescriptions skyrocket while Mitch calls in favors for his friends in the insurance and pharmaceutical industries has me even more convinced that we need leaders who put service first.
There are times, honestly, when I do wish Amy had gravitated toward simpler missions. I guess it’s natural for a mom to worry. But one thing I’m not worried about is her ability to stay strong and true to the cause. And that’s thanks in part to the support of this team.
I’ve seen how you’ve all stepped up to have her back when she needs it most. Thank you for supporting Amy in this endeavor—today, I hope you will chip in to help elect her as the next senator from Kentucky:

Thank you,
Marianne McGrath (Amy’s mom)
P.S. I told Amy if enough people stepped up to help after reading my note, I’d think about sharing my famous butter pecan turtle cookie recipe (Amy’s favorite) with Team McGrath. Hope you’ll chip in!
