Trans people used to be a bargaining chip for the broader LGBTQ+ movement. But we know we are stronger together. Now we work closely with LGBTQ+ organizations to demand that state and federal lawmakers support trans folks.

Speaking of state and federal policymakers, they used to refuse to meet with us because “transgender” was in our name. Now we’re recognized as the experts that we are, and have always been, providing testimony directly to Congress and the White House.

We know that policymakers are still introducing legislation to prevent us from living as our authentic selves. We know that the number of state level attacks continues to increase. But we also know this increase is because we have been winning. We know it and the opposition now knows it, too! That is why they are fighting so hard.
