In a season known for gratitude and possibility, thank you for creating a more inclusive and accepting world for LGBTQ people. Your support of GLAAD has made transformational change over this past year, which you can read about in our 2023 Impact Summary.

Over the past year, anti-LGBTQ bills and school policies more than doubled. As a result, we’ve counted over 700 incidents of violence against LGBTQ people. That’s nearly two attacks a day since last November. 

But your support never wavered and we are so grateful for that. The 2023 Impact Summary catalogs how you equipped countless students, journalists, advocates, authors, teachers, families, and allies with the skills to tell their stories and combat transphobia, homophobia, racism, and misogyny in the media.

Your support also:

Helped us roll back an FDA ban on blood donations that defied science and kept most gay men from giving life-saving blood for years

Made the internet safer for LGBTQ youth by suspending, demonetizing, or banning some of the most violent anti-LGBTQ accounts across YouTube, Meta, TikTok and X/Twitter

Nurtured a record high percentage of LGBTQ series regulars in streaming and broadcast television

Ensured GLAAD had the resources to advise 75% of Hollywood's major talent agencies and consult on nearly 600 studios' films and TV shows

Trained upwards of 700 people in virtual Newsroom Tours across the country on how to accurately report on LGBTQ people

Whether we’re training local reporters, coaching major film studios, or supporting LGBTQ youth who want to share their stories, you are helping us rewrite the script for LGBTQ acceptance, in the U.S. and around the world.
