ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO – Elise Keeps the Pressure on University Presidents

Last week, Chairwoman Elise Stefanik exposed the moral depravity facing our “elite institutions” when University Presidents of Harvard, MIT, and Penn refused to acknowledge whether “calling for the genocide of Jews” qualifies as bullying and harassment according to their codes of conduct. These Presidents went so far as to say it needs to turn to “action” first, meaning actual genocide.

Since the hearing, the world has watched in disbelief as these university presidents have attempted to walk back their pathetic testimonies. Here’s what has happened as a result:

  • Elise and the Education Committee announced a formal Congressional Investigation into these three schools.

  • The University of Pennsylvania announced that President Liz Magill and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Scott Bok would resign.
    • Elise stated – “This is only the very beginning of addressing the pervasive rot of antisemitism that has destroyed the most "prestigious" higher education institutions in America. This forced resignation of the president of Penn is the bare minimum of what is required. These universities can anticipate a robust and comprehensive Congressional investigation of all facets of their institutions negligent perpetration of antisemitism including administrative, faculty, funding, and overall leadership and governance.”

  • A bipartisan majority of the House led by Chairwoman Elise Stefanik formally condemned the Presidents of Harvard, MIT, and UPenn for their pathetic, abhorrent, and morally reprehensible testimony last week.
    • Elise stated – “The passage of my resolution marks a historic bipartisan effort to stand for moral truth. The world is watching as Members from both sides of the aisle stand resolutely with the Jewish people to condemn antisemitism on university campuses and the morally bankrupt testimony of the Harvard, MIT, and Penn university presidents during last week’s House Committee on Education and the Workforce hearing. It is disappointing and revealing that 128 Democrats chose to vote against condemning antisemitism on college campuses and the pathetic and abhorrent testimony of the university presidents.”
