Josee, who has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and a vision impairment, is a force to be reckoned with in the world of Special Olympics powerlifting. She has competed at World Games in both Abu Dhabi 2019 and just this summer in Berlin 2023 – and earned gold and silver medals in the process! Did I mention yet that she can deadlift over 300 pounds?! 

And Josee is a role model in her community, where her local powerlifting club has DOUBLED in size in the last year! “It means a lot…that they look up to me,” Josee says. “They send me videos of their lifts and I congratulate them.”
