You can't make this up, Jack.
SDG&E is looking to make part of your energy bill based on your INCOME, not your energy usage.
You will have to submit your TAX RETURNS to the power company so they can tell you how much you owe.
It's not SDG&E's fault – the State of California is making them adjust their fees – but, really?
Thankfully, Supervisor Jim Desmond (Republican, obviously), stood up for taxpayers in calling out this ridiculous scheme:
“It’s really going to hurt, our middle class and our working folks here in North County, with the super rich, it will have little impact. San Diego County is already struggling with the increase in prices on everything due to rising inflation and there’s no indication our prices are ever going to be going down."
Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, when Supervisor Desmond asked the Board of Supervisors to join him in a letter opposing the ridiculous rate regime, they said no.
That's why November of 2024 is going to be critically important for San Diego County, Jack. Democrats currently have a 1-seat majority on the Board of Supervisors and we have a chance to flip that seat. Can you pitch in $20.24 today to help us WIN these local seats?
I've heard it described a few different ways.
"Socialist."
"Communist."
"Just plain crazy."
Regardless of how you describe it, it's abundantly clear that our leaders are out of touch. Democrats who do everything in their power to restrict domestic energy production are now concerned about rising utility costs? Give me a break.
Please consider donating $20.24 today to help us FLIP San Diego County red, take control of the Board of Supervisors, and start turning the tide in California. We can't do this without you.

P.S. Wondering what $20.24 does? That helps us mail about 40 our our award-winning Republican Voter Guides. It also helps us reach approximately 1,000 voters with a digital ad before election day. Donate now.
