Humans and animals in the American Southwest are contracting Valley Fever through fungus that grows in the dirt and soil, costing the U.S. healthcare system $3.9 billion per year. This week, I introduced bipartisan legislation to encourage the prevention and treatment of Valley Fever and to improve care options for Western Oklahoma. Thanks to former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski for his support on this important cause!
Thanks to both Tricia Everest, Oklahoma Secretary of Public Safety (left) and Ellen Buettner, CEO of Oklahoma Health Care Authority (right) for stopping by my office this week. It's always the highlight of my week to meet with passionate constituents working to improve the lives of all Oklahomans.
Additionally, three pieces of legislation I have introduced to protect our healthcare infrastructure, coordinate patient care, and improve health outcomes passed out of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee this week with strong bipartisan support.
