Over the last year, we’ve witnessed the threat of our adversaries grow in alarming ways. We must do all we can to support and strengthen our military, ensuring our troops — those who truly represent the best of us and our Nation’s values — have the means necessary to combat our adversaries now more than ever. This year’s NDAA supports these heroes and works to keep liberal ideology from infiltrating our military, bolster our nuclear stockpiles, and secure our last line of defense — the southern border. I was proud to support this bill to restore the American military might needed to defend our nation and the free world.
This year's NDAA contains many conservative victories, including:
✓ Authorizes a 5.2 percent pay increase for troops, the largest in more than 20 years;
✓ Includes a Parents’ Bill of Rights to ensure parents of children in DoD schools have the right to meet with teachers and review curriculum;
✓ Protects and reinstates servicemembers who were discharged due to refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine;
✓ Supports law enforcement operations at the border and tackles the fentanyl crisis through counterdrug activities;
✓ Defends Israel in her time of need;
✓ Works to track and prevent CCP espionage; and
✓ Bolsters U.S. military readiness by strengthening our defense industrial base.
In addition to supporting our troops, I'm proud this year's NDAA provides exciting wins for our state of Texas, including a provision that strengthens the DoD's partnership with academic institutions like Texas A&M — a national leader in hypersonic weapons. As chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I also worked to include several provisions that will promote American leadership globally, strengthen relationships with our allies, and push back on the malign agenda of our adversaries like China.
