That’s why last week, Lori led a Congressional request to Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta demanding answers in response to a damning investigative report from the Wall Street Journal that found the company is profiting from Instagram serving inappropriate and exploitative content to users with interests in content featuring children, including risqué photos and videos.
This is unacceptable . We cannot sit by while massive social media companies like Meta prioritize profit over protecting the wellbeing of children on its platform. That’s why Lori has been working to pass legislation in Congress to hold these platforms accountable, including introducing multiple bills that would update the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and require more comprehensive transparency from social media companies.
