Greetings,
We hope you have had a great week! Congressman Kim was busy in Washington this week working to deliver servicemembers and military families key support and looking out for their needs as Ranking Member of the Military Personnel Subcommittee. He also continued his support for equal rights in celebrating the progress achieved one year after he helped pass the Respect for Marriage Act into law, to codify everyone’s right to marry who they love, but also recognizing the progress still needed as we marked the 100th anniversary since the introduction of the Equal Rights Amendment. We will continue to work to build off our nation’s promise of equality for all.
While in Washington for legislative business, Congressman Kim is glad to still be able to host his monthly town hall as a telephone town hall. Thank you to everyone who joined earlier this week!
As always, we hope you find these updates and resources helpful.

Congressman Kim Votes to Pass Bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act with Focus on Supporting Servicemembers and Military Families
On Thursday, Congressman Kim voted to pass the bipartisan Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), sending the bill to President Biden for his signature. As the Ranking Member on the Military Personnel Subcommittee, he worked to ensure we are investing in servicemembers and their families, while also securing historic investments in technology and innovation that will help keep jobs in New Jersey and ensure the United States remains the most powerful country in the world.
The NDAA delivers troops a pay raise, invests in child and maternal care, enhances job training, expands access to healthcare, and does so much more to put people first and uphold our commitment to servicemembers and military families. Listen to the Congressman speak about the importance of this legislation earlier this week on the House floor.
Congressman Kim's statement on the Supreme Court's future decision on mifepristone access
Congressman Kim released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to hear a critical case on the right to access reproductive care
“The Fifth Circuit’s decision to try and severely limit access to mifepristone is yet another dangerous attack on reproductive rights since Roe was overturned. The Supreme Court must overturn its decision and make sure this safe and effective medication, approved by the FDA over 20 years ago, stays widely available. I refuse to let women’s health hang in limbo as courts decide their fate. Congress must take up and pass legislation to codify the fundamental right for women to make their own healthcare decisions because every woman across our country deserves reliable, safe, and accessible healthcare options. I am proud to have voted to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act and other essential legislation to guarantee these rights and will keep pushing until they are signed into law.”
