Dear John,
Today we’re reaching out because one of the most important fundraising deadlines of the reporting cycle is coming up. It will be here before we know it.
January 13 – less than one month from today – marks the New York City Campaign Finance Board reporting deadline.
After this date, Brad is required by law to report all our fundraising information. Not only is this a great measure put in place for transparency; when the numbers are published, the public will use it to assess our strength.
That's why it's more important now than ever to show our support for Brad.
As NYC Comptroller, Brad continues to be a progressive leader. He is prioritizing workers' rights, climate action, government accountability and transparency.
Here are just a few things Brad has accomplished as Comptroller:
Launched an investigation into the City’s $432 million no-bid contract with DocGo (a medical services staffing company without any evident experience providing shelter or services to migrants). When Mayor Eric Adams chose to move forward despite our objections, he launched a first-of-its-kind, real-time audit of the contract. It’s underway as you read this.
Strengthened the City's efforts to combat the climate crisis, create and preserve affordable housing, and protect workers. His Public Solar NYC plan will create an innovative “public option” to scale up rooftop solar and create good green jobs.
Published the first detailed report on emergency shelter costs for asylum seekers, as well as more effective strategies for addressing the humanitarian crisis. Brad’s office also launched the Department of Correction Dashboard to provide much-needed transparency into City jails.
What’s more, Brad doesn’t accept contributions from corporate special interests.
That means he really does need the support of New Yorkers like you.
So, will you please consider making a contribution of any amount before the January 13 campaign fundraising deadline? Any amount you’re able to kick in, no matter how much, will make a huge difference before this huge deadline.
Thank you so much for your support,
Team Lander
P.S. Remember, if you are a NYC resident, contributions are matched 8 to 1 by the city’s matching program. That means a $10 contribution has a $90 impact.
