I’ll be honest, John – this is not a fair fight.
This isn’t new for me. When you’re a Black woman in one of the most forgotten parts of the state, you get pretty used to operating on an uneven playing field.
So I knew that I was entering this race with bigger barriers to overcome than my opponents… especially when it comes to fundraising.
You see, I don’t have the generational wealth to self-fund this campaign. I don’t have corporate lobbyist friends who can cut me checks at a moment’s notice. But I have something far more powerful: a team of grassroots supporters standing up to the status quo.
I also have a $15,000 mid-month goal to hit before midnight tonight, and while my opponents may not sweat something like that, I really do need your help.
This fight may not be fair, but we’re fighting anyway. If you’re in to win, will you chip in $27 before midnight, so we can hit this mid-month goal and make it all the way to Congress? >> ([link removed])
Now, your $27 donation vs. their corporate cash may not seem like a fair fight either, and you’re right. It’s not.
But when you chip in $27, and thousands more people add $27 of their own, it adds up. And that’s how we challenge the status quo of self-funded candidates in our communities and special interests in Congress. As a team.
John, this isn’t a fair fight, but together we can fight and win.
Together, we can send an unmistakable message that our 100% people-powered movement is stronger than any billionaire bankrolled campaign. But it’ll only happen with your support. John, will you pitch in your first donation of $27 by midnight to power us all forward? >> ([link removed])
