Last week, the United Nations voted overwhelmingly to pass a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all hostages held by Hamas. The only no vote? The United States.

We can’t be “indifferent” to “unspeakable suffering.”

We need a permanent cease-fire, release of all hostages, and start negotiations for an independent Palestinian state with equal rights living side by side with a secure Israel.

Israel had the right to defend itself following the October 7th Hamas attack, but the U.S. should never have given Netanyahu's far-right government such a green light to bomb civilians in the manner we've witnessed over the past many weeks.
