Friend, did you know there are more lions in captivity than there are in the wild?
For decades, the captive lion breeding industry has exploited these magnificent cats, subjecting them to cruel practices such as trophy hunting, lion bone trade, and a lifetime of captivity for commercial gain.
Thanks to the outpouring of support from animal advocates like you, we moved the South African government to agree to bring an end to the commercial captive lion breeding industry in 2021.
Unfortunately, there is now a very real threat that the South African government will go back on their promise due to relentless industry pressure to keep this cruel industry alive under the guise of conservation.
Conservation and exploitation are not compatible. With your advocacy and support, we are continuing our campaign in South Africa to put an end to the captive lion breeding industry. Friend, we know you would never stop fighting for innocent animals — and neither we will we!
As a reminder of the work that you are helping us accomplish and as a small token of our appreciation, we’ve created a special lion supporter card for you. Please print the card above and display it knowing you are creating change.
Sincerely,
Liz Quick-Corral
