Republicans have had a majority in the House for a year. They've spent their time fighting amongst themselves rather than addressing any of the issues the country is facing. While the Senate remains in session to try and come together on a long-term government funding plan and desperately needed Ukraine aid, the Republicans closed the House for the year.

Before they left town, they launched an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Impeachment inquiries are for the gravest of offenses: real evidence of wrong doing like extortion and trying to overturn an election. I've served on two of the committees investigating President Biden and Republicans haven't turned up a SINGLE piece of wrongdoing by the President.

Let's be clear on what's going on here: Republicans need to distract from their record of failure. After being impeached twice, including for trying to overturn an election, Donald Trump is again their standard bearer so they need to level the playing field for him in 2024.

We can't afford another two years of this. We are just four seats shy of the majority in the House, and can absolutely win the majority in 2024. When we had the majority in 2021, we had a legislative record that rivaled the Great Society and the New Deal. And we can do that again if we hold the Senate and win back the House.
