In addition to providing direct programming to children year-round, UNICEF strives to provide resources and support to caregivers in their most precious task of all: raising their children to be happy, healthy and hopeful.

In northern La Paz in Bolivia, women often face the challenge of raising children on their own in an environment marked by economic hardships and patriarchal traditions. UNICEF equips parents around the world, like Sandra, with the skills needed to provide nurturing care and to bolster their own mental health and well-being.

After a devastating earthquake hit Turkey in February 2023, grandparents Hassan and Semiha stepped up to care for their family as they faced disaster and loss. With mental health resources and psychosocial support, they are healing together.
