You’ve seen the images on the news –

Hurricanes tearing through communities, leveling homes, schools, businesses.

Floods and sea level rise swallowing coasts, forcing people to move inland.

Wildfires turning entire towns into ash as thousands evacuate, their homes burning.

Climate change is a significant contributor to global displacement. As we fight the climate crisis, we also need to help affected people find safety – and that’s why I need your help, Friend.

The Climate Displaced Persons Act would lead to a more equitable immigration pathway to the U.S. for people displaced by climate change and support people affected by climate disasters around the world. Please, Friend, tell Congress to pass the Climate Displaced Persons Act and offer refuge for people whose lives have been destroyed by climate change! We need 518 more signatures from your area by 11:59pm TONIGHT!

Put yourself in the shoes of someone displaced by climate change. You may NEVER be able to go home again – where will you go next? Wouldn’t you want someone to welcome you with open arms, recognizing the hurt and the pain you’ve experienced?

Many countries in the Global South are among the lowest contributors to climate change – but the most impacted. The U.S. is the largest historical emitter of greenhouse gases, meaning we bear more responsibility than any other country for the climate crisis and the way it affects people today. We have a responsibility to offer refuge to people displaced by climate change. The Climate Displaced Persons Act will do just that. Send your message to Congress now and help people displaced by the climate crisis!

Standing with you,
