Friends,
I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –
National Defense Authorization Act
My constituents did not send me to Washington to vote in favor of taxpayer-funded abortions. Yesterday, I voted NO on the NDAA because I’m fighting to ensure not $1 tax dollar funds abortion, to defund all woke Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, and to ensure no tax dollars ever are used to fund drag shows.
The NDAA should ensure our warfighters are trained to kill the enemy, not make up preferred pronouns. It should ensure we have a fleet of planes, tanks, battleships, and drones that can suppress any evil actor that may threaten America or our way of life. Instead, we were told to vote for an NDAA that funds Joe Biden’s agenda to make our military woke and to make citizens pay to murder a baby through abortion.
Lastly, I refuse to support the NDAA’s extension of FISA to allow Biden’s FBI to continue spying on Americans without a search warrant. We need serious reforms to FISA to protect the rights of every American.
Over the last seven years, we have seen an unprecedented set of FISA abuses against former President Donald Trump. What the FBI did to Donald Trump is emblematic of what they can do to every American unless we severely roll back the warrantless wiretapping authorities of FISA.
I remain committed to reining in government overreach, encroachment on your civil liberties, and attempts to treat our military like a liberal social program.
Biden Impeachment Inquiry
On Wednesday, I voted to continue the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. The Democrats will claim this is just a partisan attack, but the evidence found by House Republicans proves otherwise.
The House has a responsibility to review, investigate, and follow the evidence. The American people deserve the truth.
Evidence shows:
- Joe Biden received at least $40,000 of laundered Chinese money.
- Joe Biden misused Air Force Two by taking Hunter around the world for personal business meetings.
- Joe Biden created a two-tiered system of justice that protects his allies and targets political opponents.
- Joe Biden lied to Americans by claiming no knowledge of Hunter’s business deals. However, Devon Archer testified that Joe Biden joined Hunter on speakerphone 20+ times with Hunter’s “business partners.”
Hunter Defies Congress
Hunter Biden defied a Congressional subpoena—using his family name to demand differential treatment than other Americans. House Republicans will not follow “the Big Guy’s” two-tiered system of justice for Hunter. We must hold him in contempt.
Atomic Energy Advancement Act
America’s demand for electricity continues to grow while Biden’s EPA shuts down generation capacity, placing our Nation on the precipice of an energy crisis.
Nuclear energy is reliable, affordable, and clean. It currently makes up half of the United States’ clean energy, provides 20% of the nation’s power, and over half of the clean power generation in South Carolina.
The American Energy Advancement Act bolsters American energy independence by reforming the National Regulatory Commission so we can fully utilize our nuclear generation potential to keep the power on for Americans and safeguard national security.
Watch my remarks about my historic legislation that we are bringing to the Floor of the House here.
My commonsense bill not only ensures that we can keep the lights on for Americans, but it also received praise from countless colleagues on the Energy & Commerce Committee. Watch their comments here.
Biden's Rush-to-Green Policies Are a Rush to Blackouts
This week, I shared an update with FOX News on how the “rush-to-green” policies of the Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats are based on a false premise that intermittent power generation can meet energy demand in the United States.
Joe Biden's rush-to-green policies are really a rush to blackouts in America. Total reliance on renewable generation without adequate battery storage or dispatchable power generation could leave states without the electricity their citizens require.
We can't put all our eggs into the basket of renewable generation without having significant, always available generation. We should focus on replacing retiring power plants with adequate natural gas generation to meet our growing power needs.

Banning Russian Uranium Imports
On Monday, the House passed HR1042 to wean the United States industry off Russian uranium imports. We need a ‘Made in America’ system for nuclear fuel, and that starts with banning Russian import of low-enriched uranium.
Passing this legislation signals the domestic market to invest and build out the infrastructure for American-made uranium. I’m proud to cosponsor this legislation that ensures America is not at the whim of Russia for our nuclear fuel supply.
Thanks for Visiting!
It's always great to visit with our great first responders! Thanks for the update on important ways South Carolina EMS can continue saving lives and what obstacles you face.
American Nuclear Energy Leadership
I had the opportunity to speak about America’s leadership in nuclear energy and global security at COP28. Let me be clear, COP28 is a globalist, environmentalist, and leftist club that does not share the values of everyday Americans.
My goal was to show how as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security we have delivered a more energy-secure America that not only serves citizens with cleaner, reliable, and affordable energy but also supports our allies’ energy needs to cut global dependence on adversaries like China and Russia.
America can reclaim our nuclear energy leadership, but to do that we must make sure our supply is secure.
Legislative Action
I cosponsored HR 6734, Rep. Clyde’s bill to ban the use of federal funds to implement gun control policies like the ATF Rule 2022R-17, "Definition of 'Engaged in the Business' as a Dealer in Firearms.”
I cosponsored H.Res.934, Rep. Gosar’s resolution demanding that all charges against Julian Assange be dropped and the First Amendment be preserved to allow regular journalistic activities.
I cosponsored HR 6730, Rep. Roy’s bill to revoke the Department of Commerce Nonrecurring Expense Fund, which was established by the Fiscal Responsibility Act and put a stop to wasteful government spending.
