My former House colleague Liz Cheney, a conservative Republican, says our country is “sleepwalking into dictatorship,” and she’s on a mission to stop it from happening by defeating Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans up and down the ballot next year.
Let me be clear: There are many issues Liz Cheney and I disagree on. But I agree with her on this one! Next year’s election is so much bigger than partisan politics. Our very democracy is at stake. And if we fail to protect it, we won’t get a second chance.
As a senior leader in the House Democratic Caucus, I’m on the front lines every day, leading the work to energize Democratic voters, take back the U.S. House, and keep Donald Trump out of the White House in 2024.
I intend to fight with everything I have to help re-elect Democrats in vulnerable districts – like Rep. Angie Craig in MN-02 – and support House “Red-to-Blue” candidates who are running against Republican incumbents across the country.
Next year will be hard-fought and expensive. So when our fundraising numbers are made public after our last FEC deadline of the year on December 31, all eyes will be on us to see if we’re up to the challenge. To prove that we are, we set an end-of-year grassroots goal of $50,000.
