Dear Friend --
Every
year, the 9 nuclear armed states squander billions on their nuclear
arsenals, and every year, ICAN exposes these exorbitant sums (last
year it was $82.9 billion). Next June, we want to mobilise people
around the world to call out this unacceptable waste. To do that, we
hope to raise $50,000. Will you help?
|
Why do we need a
week of action? Because this money should be spent to meet the real
needs that citizens in these countries have: healthcare, education,
addressing climate change, infrastructure … you name it, instead of
nuclear weapons designed to destroy cities. This week of action is an opportunity to build
up the pressure and strengthen our cooperation with other
movements. |
With $50,000 we
can hold nuclear-armed states and corporations accountable through our
in-depth investigation and then hold their feet to the fire with new
actions and resources to pressure them to end this wasteful
spending. Right now, we already have a commitment from a generous
donor to match the first $20,000 donated. So will you
help us get there? |
Thank
you,
Alicia

PS - Our
next email will have more information about how you can get involved
with the week of action, stay tuned!
