How to cook + enjoy Dungeness Crab

Dungeness Crab, or "Dungies"Â are prized for their sweet, tender meat and for having one of the largest yields of crab meat. So the effort to prepare and enjoy these beauties is well worth it! Crabs will arrive to you fresh and lightly steamed. You can choose between cracked and cleaned or whole crabs.

Crabs are caught to order and steamed just before shipping. Cooked and cleaned crab will come in 1 lb clusters, including the legs, claws, and body and without the carapace. Whole crabs will range from 1.5-2 lbs and include the carapace shell and "butter."
Plan on 1-2 crabs per person if serving it as a main dish, or 1/2 lb per person if it's a side or appetizer. Crabs and their picked meat can also be frozen if you'd like them for a future meal.Â
