Eleven years ago today, a gunman killed 20 first graders and 6 staff at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

I bump into people year after year who have been doing this work since Sandy Hook. It is heartbreaking to watch as they get older, knowing their children will forever remain the same age.

We find too often that history repeats itself, from Columbine to Parkland, from Sandy Hook to Uvalde, to the deadly shootings just last week. More than 400,000 lives have been lost to gun violence since Sandy Hook. We don’t have to live like this.

At March for Our Lives, we’ve helped build a movement of parents, children, teachers, community groups, and everyday Americans hard at work to end this deadly epidemic.

We hold the memories of those lost on December 14, 2012 in our hearts and send warm wishes to their loved ones healing from this tragedy. Today and always we remain steadfast in our mission to end gun violence.

Thank you, John.
