Supreme Court to Review Key Jan. 6 Charges

The Supreme Court has agreed to review a case that could derail hundreds of
Jan. 6
<[link removed]>
felony prosecutions and impact the criminal charges against Donald Trump.

At issue is an appeal by a Jan. 6 defendant who claims the charge of
“obstruction of an official proceeding,” based on an Enron-era law designed to
punishthe shredding of documents
<[link removed]>
, shouldn’t be used against the Jan. 6 defendants.

The government says the law covers any kind of obstruction and not just
physical tampering of documents. It carries a penalty of up to 20 years in jail
and has been used in most of the Jan. 6 prosecutions. It’s also one of the
charges against Trump.

Hunter Biden Skips Deposition

Hunter Biden refused to sit for a deposition in Congress on Wednesday, instead
holding a press conference at the Capitol that raisedquestions about President
Biden’s
<[link removed]>
previous statements about his involvement in Hunter’s business.

Hunter faced an immediate backlash among Republicans in Congress, who want to
hold him in contempt
<[link removed]>
. But others focused on his statements that his father was never financially
involved in business with him.

In earlier statements, President Biden has clearly stated that he never
discussed business with Hunter (See Video Here
<[link removed]>
). But Hunter’s statements shifted that to neverdoing business, a “huge
change,” said Rep. Jim Jordan.

List: The Most Affordable Retirement Cities

U.S. News analyzed 150 cities in America as potential retirement spots based
on a variety of criteria, and from that list, it ranked the Top 10 that also
have the most affordable housing. (See The List Here
<[link removed]>
)

No. 1 on the list of most affordable places to retire is Youngstown, Ohio,
where median-priced homes go for around $137,000, and No. 10 is South Bend,
Indiana, with a median housing price of $207,000.

None of the usual expensive spots from Florida or the Sun Belt are on the
list. It includes towns in North Carolina, Alabama, and Texas, among others.
