The New York Times:
"In a First, Nations at Climate Summit Agree to Move Away From Fossil Fuels"
I want to make sure you didn't miss this huge development that took place on the world stage yesterday, team.
200 nations just reached a new climate deal in Dubai to transition away from fossil fuels. This week also happens to be the eight-year anniversary of the Paris Agreement, when leaders from around the world first gathered to address and tackle the climate crisis.
Right here in New Hampshire, our way of life and economy are rooted in our natural surroundings. It's why I was proud to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act to reduce emissions, invest in green infrastructure, and protect New Hampshire's natural environment.
I believe Congress can and should do more. But Speaker Mike Johnson has said point blank he does not believe burning fossil fuels is changing the climate. With scientists already declaring 2023 the hottest year on record, we can't afford to have climate change deniers in the Speaker's seat.
I'm committed to protecting our natural resources for generations to come. Please add your name next to mine if you agree we must put our state and our nation on a pathway to a more sustainable future. >> [link removed]
