For decades, I’ve worked alongside my buddy James Carville to help elect top Democrats running in some of the toughest races across the country. Suffice to say, I know a thing or two about what it takes to win.

• The DGA proved last year and again in November that Democratic governors can win anywhere in the country. Now, their success in key swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania creates a blueprint to send President Biden back to the White House.
• Democratic governors are delivering on President Biden’s agenda in the states. From funding our schools to investing in infrastructure, creating jobs to fighting to protect our right to vote, Democratic governors are on the ground achieving major wins for working families that radical Republicans are blocking at the national level.
• And they’ll be fighting to increase turnout in states like North Carolina, where Dem Gov. Roy Cooper won twice and has enacted a slew of popular policies, including Medicaid expansion. Now, with Gov. Cooper term-limited and both a gubernatorial and a presidential election on the ballot, pundits are saying that electing a new Democratic governor could be a powerful motivator in this swing state.

All that being said, we’re in for a hell of a battle next November. Republicans are already spending millions to attack Democrats and sow discord among the electorate.

But there is good news. The DGA has proven time and time again that Democrats can win anywhere but only with the help of strong grassroots supporters.
