John — We deserve to live our lives free from the fear of gun violence, and I'm fighting to create this future for all Texans. I ask you to join me in the stand against gun violence by making a donation toward my campaign's $15,000 mid-month goal >> [link removed]

As a trauma surgeon, I’ve pronounced too many children dead from gun violence, delivered devastating news to far too many families, and spent too many hours treating gunshot victims in the trauma bay.

This carnage must stop — it's time for change.

Throughout my career, I've dedicated myself to both medical and legislative efforts to curb the devastating impact of gun violence. In 2022, I played a crucial role in the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, working with Democratic leaders to extend background checks, support red flag laws, and address the "boyfriend loophole."

If elected to Congress, I will be a fierce advocate for comprehensive gun safety reforms. Here are the key measures I will champion:

> Reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban: I experienced firsthand training with military-grade weapons, and I know that assault weapons have no place in the hands of untrained civilians or on our streets.

> Raise the Minimum Age to Purchase Firearms to 21: Firearms are a leading cause of death for those aged 18-20, and raising the age for all weapon purchases is a straightforward solution to save lives.

> Universal Background Checks: Ensure that all gun purchases undergo thorough background checks, closing loopholes and promoting responsible ownership.

> Invest in Community Violence Prevention Programs: Particularly in historically impoverished and underrepresented communities impacted by structural racism, we need to invest in programs that address the root causes of violence.

>National Red Flag Law: Implement a national red flag law to keep guns out of the hands of individuals who pose a threat to themselves or others.

These measures are crucial steps toward ending the epidemic of gun violence – and I am ready to go to Washington to fight for all of them. But to get there, I need your help. Will you make a donation to my campaign? Chip in $5, or any amount, today to help us reach our $15,000 mid-month goal and win TX-32 in 2024. >> [link removed]
