EARN Notice: December 2023

Dear EARN comrades,

We are used to hearing this every time and it can feel over the top, but it remains true: 2024 will see one of the most consequential elections in American history. It promises to be a challenging year, but one where our collective work will matter more than ever. As such, we at EPI’s EARN team hope you are able to take some time this holiday season to rest and relax with friends and family.

As we roll into next year, we’re excited about a resource we hope you will find useful – our Industrial Policy Resource Library. Even more than a year after passage, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and the CHIPS Act remain difficult to navigate. If you’ve been hesitant to dive too deeply into those laws, you’re not alone. The size and complexity of the legislation – and their myriad interactions with existing laws, rules, and regulations at the federal, state, and local level – means it’s often hard to know where to start. Our Resource Library is your one-stop shop to figuring out how to get the most out of these important pieces of legislation. If you use it, please drop Jen Sherer a note at [email protected] to let us know what worked and what more you’d like to see in it.

If you missed our important webinar on the rise of child labor in the US and what we can do about it, you can see the recording here. And if you’re planning to do work on this issue, and haven’t already connected with EARN staff, please let us know

We’ll see you again in the New Year.

In Solidarity,

Dave Kamper
