Kick off the new year with First Day Hikes
Celebrate the new year by getting outdoors and enjoying nature. Bring your friends and family and participate in a First Day Hike at a Nebraska state park on Jan. 1.
These annual guided hikes give you the chance to explore trails, snap photos and watch wildlife. Or choose any state park and create your own hiking adventure.
At some parks, special activities are planned, including a potluck soup luncheon, winter art activities and tours of new facilities. Learn more at the link below.

Give feedback at big game meetings
We want to hear from you! Hunters and landowners are encouraged to offer their feedback on big game issues during Nebraska Game and Parks' public information meetings this winter. Most meetings are in-person, but two sessions will be held over Zoom for those who can't make it.

Federal grant to fund feasibility study for wildlife highway crossings
The Nebraska Department of Transportation and Nebraska Game and Parks recently were awarded a $400,000 federal grant to explore ways to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions in western Nebraska along Nebraska Highway 71.
