We The Action Volunteer,

Good morning, and welcome to our weekly digest of current volunteer legal projects.

We have over 75 legal projects that need your help:

Help a Youth-Led Org with Compliance, Lobbying, and Liability

JustME for JustUS

This organization, working to ensure young people in rural Maine have their voices heard in their state, especially around issues of climate, environment, and economic opportunities, are looking for someone to answer compliance questions for their 2024 vote work programming within c3 compliance. They are hoping to be able to reach out with questions about lobbying, liability issues, and other questions that arise as they incorporate. This is a remote project.

Help a start up Foundation put good legal practices in place

Undiagnosed Diseases Network Foundation (UDNF)

The UDNF aims to foster collaboration among patients, clinicians, and scientists to enhance the quality of life of undiagnosed and ultra-rare disease patients. They have limited funding and are engaging consultants to work for them with no legal expertise, so they need help to review independent contractor agreements. This is a remote project and lawyers may have any bar license.

Corporate Donation Agreement Review

YesSheCanCampaign

YesSheCanCampaign launched DISSCHOLARED™, an award-winning ed-technology program, and platform that spreads awareness about scholarship award displacement. They need an attorney to review the corporate donation agreement for their DISSCHOLARED™ program and edit a corporate donation agreement. Political law experience required. This is a remote project and lawyers may have any bar license.

1-5 HOURS

Review of existing legal documents

Justice Technology Association

This organization would like to have their existing nonprofit formation documents and web policies (e.g., privacy and cookie policies) reviewed to to see if they need to make updates to reflect their current status now that they have been in existence for 2 years. This is a remote project and lawyers may have any bar license.

1—5 HOURS

Help Rare Disease Research Nonprofit with Research Collaborations

CACNA1A Foundation

This is a parent-led rare disease patient advocacy organization whose mission is to find specific treatment options and a cure for CACNA1A patients by building a collaborative network of patients, families, clinicians and scientists. In order to aid collaboration, they need to have researchers participating to sign a collaboration agreement that includes an NDA as part of it. The volunteer will help draft these documents. This is a remote project and lawyers may have any bar license.

We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.

Best,
The We The Action Team
