Hi there, Jacob here – Eric’s Finance Director.

You haven’t heard from me lately, but I’m reaching out now because tomorrow at midnight marks the halfway point of our final fundraising quarter of 2023.

This is our last major deadline before the March primary when we find out which Republican we’ll be running against, so I’m reaching out because we can’t fall short. Right now, we are.

Eric is the only Democrat in Illinois facing a difficult re-election in 2024, and every dollar helps build our wall of support in the face of Republican attacks. Please send in $5 to help us pick up the pace.

The truth is, we already have a good sense of who our opponent will be.

It’s the guy Speaker Mike Johnson is telling big donors is one of his “top choices” to support in order to keep their MAGA, anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ+ majority running in Congress.

I’m not making this up, folks. National Republicans leaked their top candidates for this cycle. Eric’s opponent was on the list.

Remember, our opponent already made clear he’s anti-science and outspokenly pro-Trump in his campaign launch. At a time when Congress has been brought to a standstill by extremists, the last thing we need is another MAGA hardliner.

One critical lesson I learned from our first campaign is that we need to build a war chest sooner – before the election year – rather than leave it to chance. In a swing district like ours, it’s important that we don’t fall short early.

Please chip in $5 to fight back against MAGA extremists and help Eric keep his seat. Let’s get back on track so we can make sure IL-17 communities have a representative they deserve.

Thank you,

Jacob Fette
Finance Director
