I’m not going to lie. It’s a tumultuous time right now. Mostly, because we don’t know what lies ahead and how things will unfold. Many parts of our lives are paused or on hold for right now.
But the one thing I haven’t hit pause on, is working hard to get Lauren elected to Congress.
The campaign put out a joint statement yesterday with Carolyn Maloney and Peter Harrison in response to Suraj Patel’s statement regarding petitioning. Suraj remains the only candidate in the NY12 race who hasn’t pledged to not challenge petitions. He has completed his signature gathering so this is a blatant tactic to turn what should be a democratic contest into a legal one.
We have suspended all door-to-door and street canvassing due to COVID-19. It’s imperative that our volunteers and staff feel safe during this time of uncertainty. We will continue reaching our district through phonebanks, virtual town halls, and a number of other options we are exploring.
