LaCava's Column INTRODUCING COUNCIL PRESIDENT PRO TEM JOE LACAVA On December 11th, I was honored to receive a unanimous vote from my City Council colleagues to serve as Council President Pro Tem. I’m thankful to the Council for their support and trust in my leadership. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE SAN DIEGO HOUSING COMMISSION After an extensive recruitment process that I was honored to lead, I’m pleased to announce that Lisa Jones is the new unanimously approved President and CEO of the San Diego Housing Commission and Executive Director of the San Diego Housing Authority. Ms. Jones’ experience, character, and vision will protect, preserve, and advance assistance and opportunity for those served by the San Diego Housing Commission. Inspired by a generous District 1 community member, I secured $7,639.48 of District 1 Community Projects, Programs, and Services (CPPS), matching funds to acquire an AquaEye device for our communities. Whether through the budget process, direct funding, or generous donors, I am proud to fight for our lifeguards.
