Last year, the United States made its largest investment in climate action with the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). But we can’t let the IRA fall short of its full potential. That’s why Rep. Sean Casten and Rep. Mike Levin, Co-Chairs of SEEC’s Clean Energy Deployment Task Force, just introduced the Clean Electricity and Transmission Acceleration (CETA) Act.
By addressing existing permitting and transmission issues, the CETA Act breaks down the barriers that are holding back our country’s transition to clean energy. This bill would accelerate the process that builds the electrical transmission that’s necessary to bring clean energy into American homes.
Right now, the U.S. is unable to meet climate goals and the demand for clean energy due to the inability to connect our electrical grid to clean energy generation. The CETA Act will bridge this gap on our climate goals and reduce energy costs with the power of renewable energy.
