Hello,
The COVID-19 pandemic presents a major challenge to our nation, but it’s one I know we’ll get through together. There are so many heroes on the front lines: nurses, doctors, researchers, first responders, janitors and more. These are the people that are working around the clock to protect Americans. We thank them.
All of us must take precautions and prioritize the health and safety of our families and communities -- especially those among us who are most vulnerable.
Here are some things you can do to protect yourselves and others:
-
Wash your hands
-
Stay home if you’re feeling sick
-
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
-
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
More guidance is available on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website.
I have worked with my colleagues in Congress to pass a bipartisan emergency funding bill that will put forward $8.3 billion to fund public health safety emergency preparedness activities and address the unnecessary delay in getting tests to people across the country. I am also working in the Senate to quickly pass the Families First Act which passed last night in the House. We must immediately address both the health and economic challenges Americans are facing as a result of this pandemic.
