Dear Arlington Residents,
Please take 5 minutes to watch the video accessible by clicking above.
The County took new action last night and this morning to help slow the spread of the virus. I want to share with you what we are doing, why, and how you can help minimize the risks for you, your family, and our community.
Specifically, the Board voted this morning to ratify the County Manager's Declaration of Local Emergency from last night regarding COVID-19. This allows Arlington County Government to get the resources we need - staff, funds, and materials - as quickly as possible to keep our community safe.
What we need most of all----you.
We know that if we can drastically cut back on physical contact in our community, we can slow the spread of the virus and ensure critical medical resources are available for those who need them.
In support of this goal, we have and will be adjusting County services and facilities, including Parks and Recreation, Libraries and other areas. The list of changes to hours, services, and locations is available online, and will be updated regularly.
We also are working closely with APS to ensure that Arlington's students have access to meals while our public schools are closed.
