Friend,

With the number of coronavirus infections increasing across the country and here in New Hampshire, I wanted to quickly update you on what we've been doing in Congress to address this public health crisis and keep our communities safe.

Last night I voted to pass the Families First CoronaVirus Response Act which provides free coronavirus tests to anyone who needs one, guarantees paid sick leave for anyone who cannot go into work, and expands unemployment insurance. This is in addition to the $8 billion emergency funding bill we passed last week. We expect this legislation will be approved by the Senate and signed by President Trump early next week, and we will continue to consider additional steps that will protect the health and economic stability of the United States.

It's up to all of us to follow the guidance of public health experts if we're going to slow the spread of COVID-19. Here are a few reminders to help keep you and your loved ones healthy:

-- Wash your hands frequently and disinfect surfaces around your home and work environment.
-- Practice social distancing.
-- Stay home when you are sick and avoid close contact with people who are sick.
-- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
-- Remember to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough.
-- If you develop symptoms and have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19, contact your doctor immediately.

Please pass this on and take these necessary precautions. If you or your family have questions about coronavirus, you can visit the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Thank you in advance for doing your part and working with me to protect our communities. And please know that I will keep fighting for your safety every way I can.

Stay safe and be well,

Chris
