Fellow District 6 Community Members,
I always love the holiday season in Minnesota. The lights, being with friends, family, and enjoying all the amazing winter activities.
Today marks week 7 since I've announced my run to be your next Hennepin County Commissioner! I’ve been continuing to meet with residents from all 16 communities, one phone call and one coffee at a time.
Whether you live in Excelsior or Edina, Minnetonka or Wayzata, Hopkins or Orono - it is clear to me from these meetings that we all want a community that is connected, listens, and values all people. In service to that idea, it's critical we elect people that represent a politics that is about building alliances and connection. These are values I teach my sons, and are the values I live by. I would be truly honored to be your next Commissioner.
Did you know approximately 60 percent of the Hennepin County Budget is dedicated to Health and Human Services?
My personal story helps me deeply understand the real issues Minnesotans face when experiencing homelessness, food insecurity and domestic violence. My experience being a legislator at the Capitol serving on Health and Human Services Committees for the past 5 years, working on issues including mental health expansion, recovery protection and access, disability policy, waivers ensures that I am ready to start the job one day one.
