In this time of grief and turmoil, we can find some solace in the many ways
that people power is surging to meet the moment. We believe in the strength
of movements to counter the forces of apartheid, capitalism, patriarchy,
and white supremacy, and envision new systems based on feminist,
anti-racist, and regenerative principles.

This year, we began developing a shared campaign with our membership base
of more than 65 grassroots frontline groups that is anchored in divesting
from a death-perpetuating, fossil fuel economy and reinvesting in an
economy that centers life and care.

Over many months, we engaged members and key allies in an intensive,
participatory research process and cohered a Campaign Leadership Team (CLT)
to build strategic skills and foundational political unity. The CLT met
recently in Detroit to review the research findings and connect with local
organizations to exchange ideas, offer solidarity, and learn more about the
long history of radical Black organizing in the city.
Next year, we’re convening a broad spectrum of members, partners, and
allies to focus and sharpen campaign strategy at our Popular Movement
Assembly in Atlanta. With your support, we look forward to launching a
campaign that is rooted in member protagonism and leadership, steeped in
our values, and deeply transformative.

Parallel to the campaign planning, we are forming a political education
school for grassroots organizers and allies, expanding our capacity to grow
knowledge and leadership. Over the last several years, we’ve trained
hundreds of organizers and funding partners in our feminist organizing
school model, culminating in our first in-person BERTA CÁCERES
INTERNATIONAL FEMINIST ORGANIZING SCHOOL (IFOS) [3] this August in
partnership with La Jornada Continental.
We gathered more than 100 grassroots feminist leaders from over 20
countries and territories, representing diverse sectors like labor and
environmental justice, for a week-long dive into our decolonial feminist
popular education curriculum in Honduras. Our 22-person U.S. delegation
relished this opportunity to deepen and learn with international allies and
strengthen a grassroots feminist vision across the Americas.

Next year, we’ll complete the feminist popular education cycle by holding
our first in-person IFOS for facilitators so that former participants can
lead organizing schools for their own communities and networks. We will
continue dialoguing and co-developing our feminist economy proposals across
the Americas as one of the main themes from the IFOS.

En este tiempo de dolor y agitación social, podemos encontrar algo de
consuelo en las muchas formas en las que el poder del pueblo está
enfrentando el momento. Creemos en la fuerza de los movimientos para
oponerse a las fuerzas de apartheid, capitalismo, patriarcado y supremacía
blanca, e imaginar sistemas nuevos basados en principios feministas,
antirracistas y regenerativos.

Este año, empezamos a desarrollar una campaña compartida con nuestra
membresía de más de 65 grupos de la base, anclada en desinvertir de una
economía de fósiles combustibles que perpetúa la muerte y reinvertir en
una economía que centra la vida y el cuidado.

Durante muchos meses, involucramos a miembros y aliades claves en un
proceso participativo de investigación y coherimos un Equipo de Liderazgo
de Campaña (CLT por sus siglas en inglés) para desarrollar habilidades
estratégicas y unidad política fundamental. El CLT se reunió en Detroit
recientemente para repasar los hallazgos de la investigación y conectar
con organizaciones locales para intercambiar ideas, ofrecer solidaridad y
aprender más sobre la larga historía de trabajo organizativo radical
negro en la ciudad.
El año que viene, estaremos convocando a una amplia gama de miembros,
colaboradores y aliadies para enfocarnos en refinar la estrategia de
campaña en nuestra Asamblea de Movimientos Populares en Atlanta. Estamos
entusiasmades de lanzar, con su apoyo, una campaña arraigada en el
protagonismo y liderazgo de miembros, impregnada de nuestros valores y
profundamente transformadora.

Continental.
Juntamos a más de 100 líderes feministas de las bases de más de 20
países y territorios, representando a sectores diversos como el laboral y
de justicia medioambiental, para una semana de profundización de nuestra
currícula de educación popular feminista descolonial en Honduras. Nuestra
delegación estadounidense de 22 personas disfrutó de esta oportunidad
para profundizar y aprender con aliades internacionales y fortalecer una
visión feminista d ela base en el continente americano.

El año que viene completaremos el ciclo de educación popular feminista
con nuestra primera IFOS presencial para facilitadoras, para que previes
participantes puedan liderar escuelas organizadoras para sus propias
comunidades y redes. Seguiremos dialogando y co-desarrollando nuestras
propuestas de economía feminista en las Américas como uno de los temas
principales de la IFOS.
