Once again, they are squandering time, effort, and expenses that we do not have to waste. If it was not already clear by their constant disruptive tactics throughout this year, it is now: the House cannot stay in the hands of authoritarian extremists.

In 2019, House Democrats only moved on impeachment after overwhelming evidence that Donald Trump had attempted to extort the government of Ukraine, and in 2021, we needed very limited time to determine who was responsible for the attack of January 6th.

The idea that House Republicans are claiming anything remotely similar is a disgusting attack on our democratic principles.

Speaker Mike Johnson and his MAGA allies know as well as we do that this is an evidence-less inquiry. They are not trying to protect our democracy, they are hoping to disrupt it.

I will not stand by as Republicans put their loyalty to third-rate dictator Donald Trump above the American people. Let’s be clear – that’s all this impeachment inquiry vote is – a chance to prove their loyalty to Trump by undermining President Biden based on zero evidence of wrongdoing.
