Friends,
Donald Trump’s GOP has spent the last three years punishing immigrants and refugees for trying to make a better life in America and enacting a slew of policies to make life harder for communities of color.
But even the vast majority of Republicans supported disaster relief funding for Puerto Rico after the Trump administration’s criminally negligent initial response. Rep. Steve Chabot (OH-01), however, did not. Though he’s previously voted to approve disaster relief funding when it benefits Ohio, for some reason he felt the government should treat Puerto Rico differently.
At ASPIRE, we’re working tirelessly to elect diverse, progressive leaders to replace Trump and his enablers in Congress. And we proudly endorsed Nikki Foster in her race to unseat Rep. Chabot. Nikki is a daughter of immigrants and the first in her family to graduate from college. She flew 217 combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan for the Air Force and now volunteers in her spare time to help counsel veterans transitioning back into the civilian workforce.
She is the best candidate in the district to unseat Steve Chabot, and she will protect healthcare access and fight for necessary campaign finance reform in Congress.
But her primary election is on Tuesday, and we need your help right now for her final outreach push. Nikki doesn’t accept corporate money, so she’s relying on grassroots donors today. If you care about defending and expanding the House majority and replacing Trump lackeys with powerful leaders like Nikki, please join us in supporting Nikki right now: [link removed]
